There is an excellent variety of restaurants and pubs within walking distance, with many more only a short drive or taxi ride away. Liskeard is an attractive, ancient market town with a population of over six thousand. The market is situated in the middle of the town and operates on Mondays and Thursdays. Town facilities include an indoor swimming pool for the more energetic at the Lux Park sports complex and a local history museum depicting the past life of the area.

Elnor is well situated as a base for travelling Cornwall and South Devon since it is on the junction of the A38 and A390. The railway station is a five minute walk away with connections to Plymouth, Penzance, Newquay, St. Ives etc. There is also a coach service to similar destinations.

The nearest beach is at the picturesque fishing village of Looe (nine miles away) and four miles north of Liskeard lies Bodmin Moor. Within a twenty minute drive there are several golf courses, including the famous St. Mellion Golf & Country Club. Many other popular tourist attractions within easy reach include the Dobwalls Family Adventure Park & Forest Railroad and the Eden Project : the largest greenhouse in the world.
